The EP-MIC Group is one of the support groups in the EP division. The EP-MIC Group designs application specific integrated circuits, primarily for the LHC experiments. The group's facilities include a computer cluster with state-of-the-art circuit design software tools, a mixed-signal integrated circuit test system, advanced probestation and an X-ray irradiation facility Group members have expertise in analog, digital and mixed-signal design. MIC participates in common developments together with the LHC experiments, other support groups and projects. MIC also manages and operates the mixed-signal test system and the X-ray irradiation facility, which can be reserved and used by CERN users. MIC also organizes multi-project runs in 0.25 micron CMOS technology |
